University academic year is divided into 3 terms:

First Term

16th July to 30th September

Second Term

16th October to 23rd December

Third Term

8th January to 24th March

Annual Examinations:

1) Undergraduate Courses {Formal Stream/Category ‘A’}
First week of April.

2) Undergraduate Courses {Non Formal Stream/Category ‘B’}

  1. Delhi Centres - Second week of May
  2. Other than Delhi Centres - Third week of August

3) Post Graduate Courses
Last Week of March / First week of April

Internal Assessment: The main examination is of 75 marks while the 25 marks are for the internal assessment.

For internal assessment the 25 percent marks are divided into three parts :

  1. 10 percent weightage is given to the written assignments/tutorials/project reports/seminars.


  2. 10 percent weightage is assigned to the house examinations conducted by each college and departments for the main subjects in honours courses and all papers in pass courses.


  3. 5 percent weightage for attendance which will take into count the regularity in attending lectures, tutorials which is :

    • More than 67% but less than 70% - 1 marks
    • 70% or more but less than 75% - 2 marks
    • 75% or more but less than 80% - 3 marks
    • 80% or more but less than 85% - 4 marks
    • 85% and above - 5 marks
