Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute or VP Chest Institute is a medical research center based in New Delhi. The institute comes under the administrative control of Delhi University (DU). VP Chest Institute offers post graduate medical courses, conducts study and research programs and administer examination for various post graduate medical courses. University of Delhi (DU) awards degrees for courses offered by this medical institute. Medical Council of India (MCI) gives due recognition to courses offered by this institute. Established in 1949 the institute has completed its 60 years of establishment in 2009.The VP Chest Institute is funded by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of Government of India. As part of its Golden Jubilee Celebration the institute organized series of education activities in year 2008-09, of which some the most important were; "International Conference on Pathology of Chest Diseases: An Integrated Approach" from 6th-7th December 2008. A National Seminar on "Yogic Management of Cardio-respiratory Diseases" was also organized on this occasion on 5th and 6th April 2008 in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), New Delhi.
