JNU MCA Entrance Test 2010

The School of Computer & Systems Sciences - JNU was established way back in 1975. It is one of the foremost institutions to start teaching and research programmes in the broad areas of computer science.

The School offers programmes of instruction and research leading to degree of MCA, M.Tech (MPhil) and PhD. Every year around ten thousand students including applicants from the neighboring SAARC countries, appear for the MCA and M.Tech entrance examination.

The popularity of the courses offered can be judged from the excellent (100%) placement of successful students in the best of the companies in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology.

Graduates from the School have been placed in companies such as IBM, CSC, Flextronics, Siemens, HP, Parot Systems, CSG, Accenture, Cadence, GE Caps, etc.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications)

Students are admitted to the MCA programme each year on the basis of their performance in the written test conducted by the University.

This three-year programme is designed to provide necessary theoretical background and practical experience in Computer Science and Applications to meet the growing manpower requirements in automatic computing.

Scholarships

Scholarships of the value of Rs.600 per month is awarded during the fifth and sixth semesters to those students of MCA programme who have met the prescribed grades / courses requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor's degree from any recognized university in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics under the 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55 percent marks.

Application Procedure

If you want to procure an application form for JNU Entrance exam by post, your request should be accompanied by a crossed Bank Draft of Rs.300/- in favor of Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi as well as a self-addressed (unstamped) envelope of the size of 30 cms X 25 cms. One needs to clearly indicate the category for which the Application Form is required on the self-addressed envelope to the Assistant Registrar (admissions), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067.

The amount for candidates from Nepal and Sri Lanka is Rs.400/- or equivalent US Dollars. One can also acquire the form from the University cash counter on cash payment of Rs.200/- on all working days (Monday to Friday).

Money Orders and Cheques are not accepted. Students are requested to do not send their request through private courier services.
