JMI Nanoscience & Nanotechnology Courses

The Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of JMI was launched in December, 2011. Research focuses on nano-materials and nano-structures, nano-biotechnology and nano-medicine, nano-fabrication and nano-devices, as well as nano-structure characterization and measurements.

Important dates (M.Tech.) 2013

  • Last date to submit application form: 8 May, 2013
  • Date of entrance exam: 22 June, 2013, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • List of candidates for interview announced: 26 June, 2013
  • Interviews begin: 28 June, 2013
  • Selected/wait-listed candidates announced: 4 July, 2013
  • Last date to complete admission formalities: 9 July, 2013
  • Registration of wait-listed Candidates : July 23, 2012 (Monday)
  • Registered wait-listed candidates list to be published: 11 July, 2013
  • Admission to begin for registered wait-listed candidates: 12 July, 2013
  • Classes begin: 16 July, 2013

M.Tech. Nanotechnology admission process

The form and prospectus for the M.Tech. in Nanotechnology are available on the university website (www.jmi.ac.in). The form and prospectus can also be bought over the counter on working days from the JMI campus. Admission to the programme will be conducted through an entrance test and interview.

M.Tech. Nanotechnology course details
  • Duration: Four Semesters (two years)
  • Number of seats: 20
M.Tech. Nanotechnology eligibility criteria
 
Candidates must have one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following with at least 60 percent marks: Mechanical, electrical, computer engineering, instrumentation, electronics and communication
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry or Physics, mathematics to at least the graduation level. Aggregate marks should be at least 55 percent.
M.Tech. Nanotechnology application fee

Application fee (test and cost of application): Rs. 200

Ph.D. Nanotechnology

The Centre offers a Ph.D. programme in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Admission begins in July of each year. This schedule and other details will be updated on Jamia Millia Islamia's website.
