Delhi University (DU)With more than 80 colleges under its umbrella, the University of Delhi, widely popular as DU or Delhi University, is one of the most prestigious universities in the country today. The varsity is known for its high standards in teaching and research. The Delhi University has been ranked one of the best universities in the world.

The Delhi University was established in the year 1922, with just three colleges under its umbrella namely St. Stephen's College (founded in 1881), Hindu College (founded in 1899) and Ramjas College (founded in 1917).

DELHI UNIVERSITY ADMISSION FORMS 2012

Delhi University
 will soon make the admission forms available for academic session 2012. The aspirants can start applying for admission to Delhi University from June 4 to 18. DU has decided for the first time to give out the Centralized Online Application forms and Over the Counter forms. The online forms can be accessed on DU official website, while the physical forms will be available at around 15 to 16 post offices across the city and at 10 designated colleges. The cost of the form has been doubled to Rs. 100 this year. It is probable that the first cutoff will be declared on June 26, 2012 while the last cut off is scheduled for July 10, 2012  with the new session beginning on July 23, 2012. Five cutoffs are likely to be prepared this time.

The University of Delhi offers a colossal 447 different courses in fields like Commerce, Sciences, Arts, International Languages, Engineering, Medical, Law, Economics and Computers etc at the undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil, Ph.D., diploma and certificate levels.

At present, there are 13 faculties, 76 departments and 8 centres of learning operating in the University. 

The colleges affiliated with DU are spread all over the city divided under the north, south, east, west and central regions.

The nucleus of the Delhi University is its North Campus which is home to colleges like the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), St. Stephen's College, Hindu College and several other reputed colleges. The other campus of Delhi University is situated in South Delhi, popularly known as South Campus.

The University is striving to develop its East and West campuses. The East Campus is being developed with the University College of Medical Sciences as its nucleus and the west campus will focus on Engineering & Technology courses.

SOL - School of Open Learning

School of Open Learning (SOL), a unit of Delhi University (DU) is leader in offering university education through distance learning mode. This unit of the university was established in 1962. Earlier, its name was School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education. In the first academic year more than 900 students got enrolled in different courses offered by the SOL and thus a new era of education kicked off in India. Click Here for details.

    ....In second yr we hope she scores good as it will open a door to migrate from that college.Please let me know the procedures so that we can start preparing from today. Because it has become necessity to change the college as she says that the boys pass comments, tease and some times they grab away things from her, as well as please also let me know what kind of action should i take.

    My sister studies in Deshbandhu college and is good at her academics as well as extra curricular activities. She is always upset and annoyed with the boys who study in that college as they act very cheaply and don't behave descently (not all boys but few of them).Which i think is affecting her personality as well as studies too. Because of this she regularly falls ill nowadays. Despite of good result in all subjects she was not able to take a subject exam in 1st yr as she felt ill. In second yr we hope she
