The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) was setup with an aim to achieve high standards of education in emerging areas like Engineering, Technology, Business Studies, Computer Applications and Environment Management etc.

The University School of Information Technology (USIT) was established to design and implement courses in the field of Information Technology keeping in mind the importance of the IT industry in the Indian and overseas market.

The USIT has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CISCO systems, IBM and Intel. The final year students of USIT are placed with the top IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Hughes, Quark etc.

The University School of Chemical Technology (USCT) was setup with objectives of providing quality education to students interested in pursuing a career in chemical and process engineering.

The school conducts regular industry visits, seminars and summer training programs for students and also provides them with on-campus placements.

The University School of Biotechnology (USBT) was set up in 1999, the beginning year of GGSIPU. USBT provides excellent education facilities in the field of biotechnology.

Research and development work in biotechnology also takes place in the University school. The school was ranked first in the country for its infrastructure and third in the country for imparting quality education in biotechnology.

4. University School of Management Studies (USMS)
