Today the School is a specialized Deemed University and is regarded as only one of its kind, which exclusively provides training at various levels, in different aspects of human habitat and environment.The School has taken lead in introducing academic programmes in specialized fields both at Bachelor's and Master's levels.
The School has always been in the lead for extending education and research to new frontiers of knowledge. Human habitat and environment being the basic concern ofthe School, the spectrum of academic programmes is being continuously extended by providing programmes in new fields and emerging areas for which facilities are not available, as yet, anywhere else in the country.

For Under Graduate Programs: Candidates must have passed 10 2 (Senior Secondary Class XII) Examination or its equivalent, referred to as a qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University for admission to B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharmacy/B.Arch. & Planning Courses as under:-

Interested candidates must have to appear in All India Engineering / Architecture Entrance Exam (AIEEE) for admission. Admission through AIEEE is meant for Indian nationals only.
For Post Graduate Programs
- M.Arch.- Open to B.Arch./B.Planning or equivalent Degree holders. For M.Arch. (Industrial Design) candidates holding B.Arch. or equivalent Degree are eligible,
- M.B.E.M. - Open to B.Arch/B.E. (Civil)/B.Archs/Planning/B.E. (Civil) B.Arch.Engg. or equivalent Degree holders.
Sponsored candidates must have a minimum two years full-time work experience.
Selection: Selection will be made from among the applicants called for interview and/or test conducted by the SPA New Delhi. Candidates with valid GATE Score or UGC(NET) JRF are eligible for scholarship.
Doctoral Programmes: 10 Seats each are offered in the fields of: Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, Industrial Design, Architectural Conservation, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Environmental Planning, Housing, Transport Planning, and Building Engineering & Management.
Eligibility: Masters Degree in any of the above courses conducted by the School or its equivalent from any other recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or Bachelors Degree in Architecture/Planning of the School or its equivalent from any other recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks and five years experience in teaching/research/professional experience. Relaxation in aggregate marks as specified above, may be made in the case of exceptionally qualified applicants.
