DU Sports Trials Schedule 2012

The trial schedule for the sports quota have been released by most of the colleges. Given below are some of the schedules:
  • Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) will start with the general fitness test on June 20, 2012, while the actual trial starts from June 21, 2012
  • Lady Sri Ram (LSR) College will start its trial on June 22, 2012
  • Kamla Nehru College will start trials from June 20, 2012
  • St. Stephens will start sports trials on June 19, 2012
  • Hindu College has fixed sports trial date on June 28, 2012
Please Note the following:
1. Only those aspirants who qualify in the fitness test will be allowed to compete in the trials for final selection.

2. The seats for sports and extracurricular activities quota will be 5% over and above the college's total intake. The colleges will accord 50% weight to trials and the rest to certificates. Students will have to provide certificates garnered in Class X, XI and XII and hence certificates older than three years will not be accepted.

3. Students should read the trial schedule carefully as not all colleges have all the sports. The colleges choose the disciplines according to their requirements. Also, there are colleges that require a specific skill in a sport as they might have a vacant slot only for that position, for example a smasher in volleyball or a goalkeeper in football. It is also important to know the minimum level of expertise the college is looking for.

4. Lady Shri Ram College will conduct sports trial in 12 discipline including, judo, archery, shooting, athletics and gymnastics, while Kirori Mal College will have nine disciplines, such as basketball, chess, cricket and boxing. St. Stephens will also conduct their trials in 12 disciplines, which will include squash and football. Hindu College on the other hand, will just have the trial for four disciplines such as basket ball, tennis, cricket and swimming.
