Every year, finding a good hostel accommodation for thousands of Delhi University (DU) aspirants is a big task. You have to keep certain factors in mind while choosing your hostel accommodation especially when you are a student. Some of the important criteria while choosing your hostel accommodation are:

  • Proximity to your college
  • Hostel charges
  • Safety and security arrangements
  • Facilities and infrastructure provided by the hostel

The University of Delhi provides good campus accommodation for its students both in the North campus as well as in the South Campus. Hostel admissions are purely based on merit and students have to fill up a separate hostel admission form.

So if you are applying to DU for the 2016 - 2017 academic year, this list of hostels in Delhi for students may be useful to you. But please note that out of the 64 DU colleges, only 14 colleges provide hostels. The rest of the out-station students would have to look out for PGs and houses on rent:

Paying Guest (PG) Houses in North Campus

With more than 8,000 outstation students getting admitted to various undergraduate programmes in Delhi University, the above mentioned DU hostels may not be enough to accommodate everyone. The need for comfortable and affordable accommodation close to the colleges in DU, North Campus has led to a rise in the number of paying guest (PG) houses both for girls and boys, in the neighbouring areas like Kamla Nagar, Hudson Line, Roop Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Vijay Nagar, GTB Nagar, BD Estate and Dr. Mukherjee Nagar. The monthly rent for these PGs can vary from anywhere between Rs. 5000 to Rs. 15,000 depending on the facilities and luxuries available. Given below is a list of various PGs close to North Campus:
