Presently the Faculty has the following departments
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education: The Department offers Ph.D. program in different areas of education. The conditions of admission to Ph.D. and other particulars relating to it are given in the Regulation for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy published separately. The booklet and the Form for Application for Ph.D. can be had from the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi on payment of Rs.100/- However for registration, details could be obtained from the office of the Department.
Master of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education (Number of Seats: 10)
Eligbility- Not less than 55% marks in Masters degree examination in Education or in any allied fields viz. Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, etc.
Master of Education (M.Ed.) (Number of Seats: 21)
Eligibility- At least second division in theory in the B. Ed. / B. Ed. (Nursery Education) or its equivalent Examination. OR A B.Ed. degree from a recognized university OR an equivalent qualification plus a Master degree with at least a second division.
Please Note: Those employed but on leave for the academic session may be admitted as full-time students, provided they fulfill all other requirements.
Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education (Number of Seats: 10)
Eligibility- At least II Division in Theory papers in B.Ed. / B.Ed. (Nursery)/B.El.Ed. OR B.Ed./B. Ed. (Nursery)/B. El. Ed. plus a Master degree with at least II division.
M.A. in Educational Planning & Administration (Number of Seats: 10)
Eligibility- A candidate for the admission to this course should have passed the Bachelors degree examination (a three year course after 10+ 2) of the Jamia or an equivalent examination from a University recognized by the Jamia with 50% marks.
Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Management (Self-Financed) (Number of Seats: 15)
Eligibility- A candidate who has done graduation in any discipline with 50% marks or post graduation shall be eligible for the admission to this course. Admission will be based on the performance of the candidate in written test (85 marks) and the interview (15 marks).

Academy of Third World Studies:
The Academy of Third World Studies was established in 1988 at the initiative of the then Prime Minister of India, Shri. Rajiv Gandh. It was conceived as an inter-disciplinary centre to conduct researches on political, social, cultural and economic issues specific to developing societies/countries.
In 1998, the University Grants Commission (UGC) accorded to the Academy the formal status of a full-fledged centre of research.
It has also collaborated with the Indian Social Institute, the National Media Centre, Delhi University, Delhi Policy Group, the South Asia Forum for Human Rights (Kathmandu) and several Departments in Jamia Millia Islamia itself. Some of the Academys activities have also been co-sponsored by the UGC, ICSSR, ICHR, ICWA, Oxford University Press and the like.

It aims to fill a strange gap in Indian academic life the lack of serious and purposeful analysis of types and sources of conflict, and the methods of dealing with them that India has adopted.
There is also a substantive body of more recent Indian field experience in strategies of conflict resolution, from the very successful non-violent movement for independence to fifty years of peacekeeping under the United Nations. And there is a repertoire of domestic experience in conflict resolution post-independence, from dealing with self-determination aspirations through the creation of linguistic and normative states, to establishing local and civic mechanisms for dispute.
Besides grooming researchers for this field, the centre also offers its unique degree program titled:

AJK Mass Communication Research Centre
Among other things Jamia is today primarily known for is its mass communication courses. The Mass Communication Research Centre was established in 1982 in collaboration with York University, Toronto (Canada) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Another foremost department of Jamia is its faculty of Fine arts which, each year churn out skilled Fine artists, possessing skills that are demanded by many industries like advertising, book publishing, newspaper and magazine publishing, film and television, theatre and tourism eetc.Presently the Faculty has the following departments

Each year, Jamias autonomous Centre for Management Studies prepares management professionals to cater to the ever growing global business scenario.
